Analyse the camera , editing and mise en scene of the two music videos

Titanium 

camera -

The camera starts of at a low angle as the boy has his hands on his head. The camera then follows the boy around the school pauses when you see the lady on the phone and the you see the close up angle from the lady . it then folows the boy around the school into the locker room .when the boy gets on his bike the camera folows him , when he goes at his fastest pace the camera stays by the side of the boy as if they are together when the boy slows down the camera drops behind .The camera then shows the mens feet running at a low camera angle to show that they are on a mission to find the boy . They have also captured when the boy has escaped to use the lighting and caputure the light shining throught door to look as if he has vanished asn we cant see where he has gone .

Mise en scene -

 there are torn up pieces of paper , wrapers and spilled drinks on the floor where the boy is . The setting looks like something has happened and has distrupted the school. the lighting of this school has some light areas , depsite the locker room beign very sinister and dark .with the use of the prop the hat i feel as if this is used specificly to cover up , the mess he has done to hide.

Editing  - 

there are a few special effects in this music video . when the boy wants the key the effects makes it look as if they are floating from the use of the boys superpowers. he also makes the bears in the bedroom to float up in the sky and spin around with the use of speical affects makes it look real . Finally when the boy is captured and he is on the ground he used his special powers to and makes the leafs all blow and makes the police men blow over fromt eh use of the editing and speical affects

camera -

the camera starts of first front on close up angel , and then focuses on the movement of her feet capturing her walk past . the camera stays up high and captures the lady walk up the stairs, zooming in onto her face.the camera then goes from her point of view walking up the stairs , the camera is brought back down looking down from the lady singing . the camera follows the group of people fast but when the lady signs stop the cameras movement slows down and follows the people as if the camera was with them in the opposite dierection so you see them run past.the camerma then captures the people doing things such as a backflip of the wall . 

mise en scene - 

at first the lighting is very dark , but uses the natural sun light to shine through to make it appear more lighter . when the camera goes back to the angle of the stairs they appear very dark and sinister .there is a dark scence where the lady is standign there at it looks as if their is fog or mist pasing through , looking very grey and sinister .however we then see light shining through the windows . could be refereing to peoples talent shining through . when it is the chorus there is alot more lighting . the lady also wears a bright pink dress and contrast with the dark setting and then matches when the sun is shining through 

editing - 

the editing uses is using slow motion effect to show the people stopping and making them realise . at the start of the song there are many short shots and then when the chorus begins they are longer shots taking more time .

What generic features do you see (e.g. dance routine: dance/pop music) Sound – genre, instruments, lyrics, emotion	The genre here is power , and is expressed with the use of the light shining through to show the energy that these people have . the song is slow and deep and then livens up when the chorus hits . no dance routine just her lip signing it .this song is very slow compared	Genre is more superpowers , from the use of the boys superpowers from his making things fly and blow up . there are no dance routines you just follow the boys story around .

The narrative for this is about one lady who is signing and she is trying to tell people to be themselves and realise the power they have and enjoy what they  have know as everyone has their own talent like the boy who does the back flip.	The boy  is about the boy being unstoppable and titanium meaning powerful, it also shows resilience showing the boys inner strength , as we wonder thought the school showing the boys strength and what he has done people trying to capture him he gets away

Camera shots – which types? What variety of shots is there? What are shots of? Are there shots of artist? How many? What are they doing/type?	At the start there are a lot of short shots of the girl walking up the stars and then it would move to the light , followed by the building .however as we moved onto the chorus the shots got longer especially when we when onto the part when the lady sang about stopping we see a long shot of the people running in slow motion .	At the start there different lengths of the shots , the scenes where the boy is on the floor is slow , when he is walking through the lockers is slow , however it begins to pick up when the boy is speeding on his bike , the length of the shots get shorter which creates a more lively and faster scene .
Editing – How are camera shots edited? What is the pace like? How does the editing fit the music	The pace is slow and nothing major happens but you can see the emotion that the people are feeling , the pace fits the music because the lady is singing slow and soft  and the camera just slowly follows her and doesn’t move to fast or out of character	The pace at the beginning is very slow when we see the boy awakening from the floor , however when the boy is cycling extortionately on his bike the camera follows his pace and makes it seem as if they are cycling at the same speed the camera then falls behind which could be showing that the boy is unstoppable an nothing can beat him  .
Mise-en-scene – comment on costume, setting, hair, props, make up, facial expressions etc How does this fit genre?	The setting is on a building and we see the lady walking on the stairs and herself on the top of the building .it fits the genre because you get to see dark sides of the building and when the light shines through it could resemble the persons powers and energy	The setting is at the school and the place looks like something has happened to it from the use of the torn up letters and spilled drinks . the boy has a bike and uses it to express his power as he goes beyond fast. The police officers also look very supposed and shocked from the boys superpowers and uses facial expressions to show this
How does the artist want to be seen? How do they come across to their audience?	I think the artists wants people to see that people need to express themselves and shine and be themselves . she comes across as a helping caring person and wants people to become more like her.	I think the boy is showing that he is unstoppable and that he has superpowers . it expresses his understrength . it also leaves a lot of questions at the end about why this has happened

In the music video Titanium , singer Sia ,and DJ record producer , David Guetta have crafted this music video to promote themselves to come across as a compassionate individual that wants to raise awareness about bullying whilst being unstoppable  by representing them self with the boy who’s powerful and strong. 

The song its self (titanium ) is named after being a strong hard metal therefore is representing the little boy who is featured in this music video. The artists who created this song could be representing themselves as strong individuals that want to help the boy find his strength and become powerful . Despite the song not being about themselves they could have used this song to show to the audience that anyone is powerful  and unbreakable making them stand up for bully’s and giving them hope . the fact that the artists have created this song / music video makes them come across as caring and thoughtful for people who are facing hard times and going through difficult stages through their life who need a bit of support to get them through tough times . They then would listen to the song and it would help them and give them hope and confidence and show them anyone can be powerful .

camera   - The opening scene starts of immediately showing a red stop sign . The reason for this is to show a sense of danger could occur . It makes the audience fear about what's about to happen. you could also say that this represents the boys in America . When we look further into this , we could say that things need to stop , possibly children in America acting bad . the angle of the camera is slightly positioned in a low angle , this could represent the children position in America.  The movement of this first scene zooms in getting closer and closer to the word stop . it then focuses on the children the camera moves with them in this scene . when the little boy gets angry the camera zooms in an focuses on his face this is done to show his expressions more clearer 





Mise en scene - the costume the children wear is very 80s styled clothing it creates a natural light .The girl in the blue looks like she likes her fashion however you would not wear this look to school we could suggest here from her mother letting her go out in this shows not a lot of care for her however this is an uncertain estimate .
the lighting for this film is quote light and we do not see a great sense of quality maybe because of the time period this was set in makes it more realistic .
the setting  places on a run down street with crime scene banners to stop people entering .the neighbour hood does not look very looked after . the police line shows a dense of danger that we got from the very start . blood on the floor shows mystery and the fact that the children have found it makes the neighbourhood dodgy . the police line has not stopped children entering  this could suggest the children don't think much of the police or that the police in that town don't look after one another . the children do not look frightened or shocked when they see the blood unlike a in a normal town this would be very concerning . therefore this suggest that they are used to it and happens frequently in this neighbourhood 


editing -  in this short opening scene there are a lot of transitions being displayed . there is a slow zoomed in edit at the start , this is when the camera zooms in . there is a fast pace scene especially when they are walking the camera follows them . the boy who is has blue clothing on makes the audience think that he has a big part and the most important as he has the most screen time . when there is a fight scene there are a lot of transitions so get all the actions and angels . we see time passed when the little boys walks

sound - when you first hear this opening scene you hear dramatic dialogue off screen then  immediately followed by  drilling , the music is playing afer is slow to build it up this fits the mood and therefore is parallel . the sounds you hear from the boys fighting show anger and hatred and you get to see the emotion towards one another in their voice

camera - it first starts off bright lights it consist of close ups and tracking back .the cameras shows how time is passing by for the couple starting of by showing their young youth years and then speed up the shots for middle age it then starts to slow down when they get to grandparents as they get old , the shots come long distance and more slower when traveling with the moving people .]
sound - the music starts of with happy upbeat positive music it then slows down when you see the couple have miss-carriage it bounces up as they get their life together however when they start to get ill the music dyes down the music is resembling their life 
editing - at the start it shows short screen times followed by lots of transitions to show their happy fulfilled life with excitement when he gets older the transitions get very quick showing the days passing by from the calendar dates . this scene is all fast pace however when they reach elderly age the editing and screen time gets slower representing their life 
mise en scene - the costumes that the couple wear front he start is a classic young teenage outfit when they grow up it consists of bow ties and suits for the man and for the lady you see the different styles passing thought the decades . the lighting at the start shows the house is very dull and don't a lot of life in it when they decide paint and cheer it up with bright fun colors the lighting it bright showing their positive life . when the miss carriage occurs , we see a image of them sitting in the doctors office upset getting the sad news the outside of the office is dark and gloomy however where they are placed it is bright this could show there life is on a spotlight in ways that having a baby is a must have however it is not . it shows intimidation towards the couple . the couple show their romantic side towards each other they start of in love and when the lady dies the man has a down scene we see his house get dull and depressed. the props in this film would be the house . we see the house dull fulled with no love and tender when the couple arrive we see them do it up and make it into a home . 


the film the ghost ship 
sound -  at the start there is Italian music preforming , violins in the background everything seems normal the music and mood is parallel , the music is a soft pace relaxing and fit for the scene however the music gets loud and faster when the action happens .
camera/editing  -the camera starts of by showing dissolved cuts followed by a slow pace movement . it shows a calm scene and secures the audience . From an audiences position you would not think anything could go wrong . the camera then travels around the whole ship we see this huge ship not realising what could go wrong . 
mise en scene - the costumes for this shows a upperclass citizens traveling on a boat the men in suits followed by women in formal dresses . the lady singing in a red dresses with red satin gloves looks formal .
the lighting for this starts of in the hall everyone dancing the lights are a bright tone followed bu a big chandelier in the centre it looks formal and bright however when they travel upstairs to the top deck it then turns to a dark setting it has dark scenes despite it is at night there is a dark gloomy feel to this .the main actor is in a red satin dress . immediately you woudbt assume this senses danger because everything is parallel however when things turn dark you could say from the colour of her dress it shouted danger from the start .

the film cape fear-
sound - the music is thrilling at the start to create a suspense scene it begins to get louder when the moves from door to door it then begins to slow down and get quiter you get to hear background noisers more like the sound the gate shutting .when the thunder begins the music appears . camera/editing - the camera starts of by travelling down the prison wall it then focuses on the man doing press-up it zooms out . the camera then travels with the man . at the end the man is walking up towards the still camera and its the man who moves . this could portray his freedom as he is not being followed around anymore . 
mise en scene - the man looks into religion he has a cross largely displayed on his back followed by scales showing the picture of justice this would be unusual for a man in prison .
there are a few props in this opening scene one being that the books he has . many people in prison would not read about criminal law t . he does not seem bothered  by them anymore as he quotes " I have read them ". it makes the character seem unusual 


clueless the film -  sound - music starts immediately into the film showing a pop rock song . expressing what American kids do , its an upbeat song therefore we suggest at the beginning what this film will be about . the main character Cher , is talking behind the camera you get to Hear about herself .
camera - the camera is very chaotic which represents the people in this film .quik fast shots speed up to capture every moment in the summer . the camera follow around Chers dad whom is high up business man this could suggest his character is superior to others .
the lighting is very bright the outfit that she has is a bright yellow checkered suit and skirt . the colour yellow represents happy positive which could show us her character more . you get to see  the upper side of America with houses larger than most . she droves around in a higher class car which shows her wealth . despite the opening scene only being a few minutes we get to capture what the main characters are like .
